This design is the result of collaboration between Stimson Yachts Ltd and Yacht Studio, and is in response to an enquiry from a European client who is looking to upgrade from his current 45ft production yacht. The design brief put an emphasis on short handed operation and outside spaces for entertainment for up to 16 people for dinner.

Stimson Yachts, who are responsible for the naval architecture, has drawn a long waterline, near plumb bowed hull form to give maximum waterline length and slenderness ratio. This, together with a moderate 15degree deadrise aft, results in a long running length and low trim angles though the speed range up to 30knots, making for an easily driven and seakindly hull in all sea states and at all speeds.

Yacht Studio has styled the Yachtsman 55 with a striking modern exterior design with a hint of a classic launch that provides excellent outdoor areas for entertaining and relaxing. The aft cockpit flows on one level into a functional saloon complete with full galley, settee and helm station.

Heading down the forward companionway are two double guest cabins, a central single children’s cabin and guest head. Continuing forward a full width owners cabin with ensuite, featuring two hanging lockers and a queen size island berth making full use of the long waterline and volume forward.
